As a therapist, I like to think of our work together as a team. No issue or struggle is too small. If it bothers you, that is valid. I want you to be able to recognize and validate your experiences and feelings. We process, reflect, and brainstorm together to find the best possible outcome for you. My goal is to empower and encourage you to work toward your goals. I help you look at all the events in your life that add up to the unique person you have become. Every client is different, and we will identify your personal needs, wants, goals, and struggles, as well as how to start to overcome them. The primary therapy models I follow are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
I am a Licensed Social Worker and earned my Master’s in Social work from the University of Toledo (MSW, LSW). I work with issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, grief, trauma, and other life-related issues. My clientele is teens 16 and over, as well as adults.

“When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower” – AlexanderDen Heijer
Hello! My name is Kaitlyn, and I am a Licensed Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from Loyola University Chicago (MSW, LSW). My goal is to start with you wherever you are in your healing process and assist you throughout your journey by providing an empathetic, safe space for you to be
able to express yourself. Not only can I help you with addressing various thoughts and feelings related to mental health, but I can also provide broader ideas that might provide you with different ways of thinking about your wellbeing to better assist you in your journey.
My passion is working with marginalized groups of people to assist with addressing oppressive and systemic barriers to basic human rights. I am constantly educating myself about current events that relate to social policy at both micro and macro levels so that I can better advocate for not only my
clients, but myself as well. I currently provide therapy services to adolescent and young adult clients on an individual level through use of various therapeutic modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) , Person-Centered Therapy, Strengths-Based Approach, and Solutions-Focused Therapy. I typically work with those struggling with anxiety, depression, and other life-related stressors. I love assisting others, and helping them make progress towards their short-term and long-term goals, and I am very excited to begin working with you!

Life can oftentimes feel as though it’s the hardest it’s ever been. It can feel like the world is getting more complex and there is more to get done and your mental health and happiness take a back seat. Life doesn’t have to be that way. As a therapist, I help those ages 15 and up to process their world both internally and externally and work with individuals to achieve the stability that they desire.
In therapy, I will work with you to learn to take back control. We will walk the path of self discovery together in an effort to achieve the best “you” that is possible. People often think, “If I go to therapy I must be broken or need to be fixed.” This is never the case. Therapy is a treatment like any other and you can learn it can be a point of pride for taking care of yourself.
My goal as your therapist will be to work with you to help identify what you feel is causing your world an imbalance and work to restore that balance. Together, we will set goals and work towards achieving those goals by working towards acquiring the thoughts, feelings, behaviors and results that you desire. I graduated from the University of Toledo in 2013 with my Bachelors of Social work and then in 2015 with my Masters of Social Work.I have experience with a multitude of populations and diverse backgrounds. I’ve worked in the Social Work field for the past 7 years working with people of all ages, ethnic backgrounds and cultures along with a broad range with experience in multiple types of therapies for individuals with addiction, depression, anxiety and many other mental health diagnosis. No problem is too big or too small, so give therapy a chance and let’s walk that path together

It can be hard to live for today where you’re stuck in the past, or anxious about the future, but with evidence-based practice and individualized care you can be on your way to wellness! As a licensed professional counselor, I have experience with teens and adults who struggle with fear and anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, grief, and relationship issues which can often be rooted in unresolved traumas.
I specialize in EMDR which is an evidence-based form of therapy used in treating PTSD as well as other trauma-related issues. We’ll spend a great deal of time talking about what’s bothering you, but I’ll also offer hands-on, practical strategies for managing symptoms.
For many, the choice to begin therapy is not an easy one to make and is often far outside one’s comfort-zone. As a therapist, my goal is to help you to feel as comfortable as possible by delivering a warm, non-judgmental approach that’s tailored for you!

A quote that I often think about states, “I’m keeping an eye on the past, an eye on the future, and the present in my pocket.” The message from this quote is the basis for the focus of my practice; to help clients understand or process past trauma and past stressful events, to empower and encouraged clients to work toward fulfilling goals, and to teach clients to be more mindful and present in the here and now for increased life satisfaction. Every person is made of complex experiences, that they have both contributed to and that they have had no control over. It is my passion to assist clients in working through these experiences through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as other evidence-based practices for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I use an empathetic, warm, and genuine approach to my therapy sessions, as it is my goal for my clients to feel accepted and heard, even when being encouraged or challenged. My worldview is that every person deserves to lead a fulfilling and satisfying life. As for my professional vitae, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Women’s Studies from The University of Akron and my Master’s in Social Work from Ohio State University.

The problems of life faced by adolescents and adults are the focus of my practice. My goal as your counselor is to provide support as you face the many difficulties that are part of the human experience, and to help you find paths that lead to positivity, hope, and goal attainment. To this end, I strive to be attentive, open, genuine, challenging, and provide a safe environment for my clients to explore their inner lives and leverage innate strengths.
In my clinical practice, I treat adolescents and adults experiencing career and relationships difficulties, major life transitions, the aftereffects of recent or childhood traumas, grief, depression, anxiety, and psychosis. Using cognitive-behavioral and positive psychology techniques, I work with individuals to clarify problems, focus on symptom relief, and develop and begin actively working on new goals.

Hello and welcome! My name is Stephene Evans (she/her) and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker practicing in Ohio & Michigan since 2008. I am also an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider through Evergreen Certifications. I have worked with a variety of populations throughout my clinical career with primary focus on children/adolescents and neuro developmental disorders. My specialties include the diagnosis and treatment of: late diagnosis (adult) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), executive functioning weaknesses, anxiety, depression, sensory processing, grief, positive parenting, early childhood mental health, and trauma.
I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. My counseling style is supportive, interactive, empathetic, and culturally inclusive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. I recognize every person is unique and therapeutic modalities are not one-size-fits-all. I believe a trusting therapeutic relationship is the most powerful tool to create lasting change. Human beings do not heal in isolation; we need human connections to thrive. Therapy works because we are utilizing our intrinsic need to connect with others and release the heaviness of issues and problems in ways make us feel heard, supported, and understood. My goal is to foster an environment that feels safe, comfortable, and open to connection throughout your therapeutic journey. Sessions are very much client-led, meaning that you determine the goals and the direction of our time together. My role is to help guide you on your own path of self-discovery and self-love. Regardless of circumstances, you are worthy and deserving of wellness. There is no wrong time, reason, or explanation to come to therapy. When you are ready, I’ll be here.

My first career as a nurse working in a trauma and intensive care unit allowed me the gift of experiencing people’s brightest and worst moments of their lives and what was most intriguing was how differently they each reacted. As I became a licensed practical counselor, I knew I would need to learn each person’s unique experience and how it affects their lives. My style is very relaxed with some laughter sprinkled in and my hope is for my clients to feel comfortable and supported. You may be looking for a safe place to vent or you may have some complex issues to work through. I see clients aged 13 and up and have experience with:
- Grief and complicated grief
- Break-ups and family relational issues
- Couple’s counseling using the Gottman method
- Anxiety, Depression, and ADHD using solution focused and Cognitive Behavioral therapy
- Complicated and Complex Dilemmas

“People start to heal the moment they are heard” – Cheryl Richardson. This quote resonates with me as an individual and as a therapist. Life is an ongoing journey and sometimes it can throw challenges our way. The more support we have the more obstacles we can overcome. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe space and supportive environment to help you feel heard and validated. Together we will create an environment that allows you to process, grow, and move forward toward your goals in life. I have always had a passion to help others and improve their quality of life. My first career was working primarily in Foster Care helping find loving Foster families for children in care. I found that once I was working in Foster Care, I had to a passion to work with individuals on the therapeutic side. I knew that it was time to go back to school and pursue my dream of being a therapist. I focus on working with each individual and creating a treatment plan that helps adhere to each client’s specific needs and defines the goals they want to reach. My goal is to help clients know that they aren’t alone and to give them the support and safe space to help them grow and blossom in life. My focus as a therapist is to help assist clients on their unique journey and identify a support system that helps them heal from their trauma and reach their goals.

“We don’t have to do it all alone. We were never meant to.”
-Brene Brown
Whether you’re a child or an adult, the need to be seen and validated feels the same within all of us. We all face difficulties at some point, and while there’s sometimes pride in not needing others; your mental well-being isn’t one you have to face by yourself. By focusing on the person first, I strive to build a relationship with my clients so that each session and treatment approach is individualized to your needs and what works best for you. We talk about what you want to talk about, as much or as little, with as many or few details, for as long as you want. Oftentimes when people decide to prioritize their own mental wellness, they may feel selfish for taking time away from their families or work obligations. The truth is, by prioritizing yourself for just one hour a week, you’re really demonstrating how important those other things are by wanting to be the best version of yourself you can be for them.
When children, particularly young children, present with challenging behaviors, the adults in their lives can often feel lost on how to help them and overwhelmed. My goal for every family I work with is to teach you, the parent, positive parenting techniques so you can replace those short term solutions you may have been using with methods that produce long term results. It is my firm belief that the involvement of the parent plays a bigger role than I do in having a child benefit from therapy.
I have both an undergraduate and graduate degree in Social Work from Bowling Green State University. In addition to my social work license, I have also obtained credentials as an Early Childhood Mental Health Professional (ECMHP) and an Ohio Infant Mental Health Practitioner Level III (OIMHP-III).
