Hi my name is Brian Robb & I work primarily with adults, couples, & some older teenagers. I’m passionate about helping people: cope with anxiety & depression; process family dysfunction; sort through difficult emotions; heal from past trauma; become less self critical; & begin or maintain recovery from compulsive behaviors (drugs/alcohol/pornography). I also enjoy helping couples to improve their relationships & communication. I have found therapy personally beneficial to my own life & relationships, which is why I chose to pursue a career in helping others. I’ve been working in the field since 2010 & graduated from both Bowling Green State University & the University of Toledo. Everybody I meet is a unique individual, I spend the first 3-4 sessions getting to know you before we create a path for how to address your needs & achieve your goals. I always strive to be collaborative: focusing on your goals & your pace; and bringing my knowledge of the change process to work alongside you. Lastly, I want you to know that reaching out is a sign of tremendous strength. It may be your pattern to deal with issues by yourself; & its possible to stay stuck because of this for years or even decades. Know that we all need other’s support to be the best version of ourselves. Give yourself the opportunity to try something new and see how it can work
I believe that children are our future. Their resiliency to life's stressors and trauma never ceases to amaze me and I feel grateful working alongside them while they continue to grow. Although children are often resilient, their negative experiences can affect their future if not given opportunity to explore and grow from them. As a licensed independent social worker, I have experience working with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety, behavioral problems, grief, adjusting to life changes such as parental divorce, and trauma. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and families through these challenges and focusing on how their strengths can be used. I specialize in Child-Parent Psychotherapy which is an evidenced-based form of therapy focused on young children that have experienced some sort of traumatic experience and could benefit from strengthening their relationship with their parent, caregiver, or foster placement. My hope is to help your child feel safe and comfortable to explore their experiences, feelings, and behaviors through play and other creative interventions to make time spent in therapy fun and meaningful!
I personally believe that everyone is affected by mental illness one way or another. My passion is helping children, adolescents, young adults work though life. I have experience working with clients who have depression, anxiety, LGBTQ+ challenges, bullying, and interpersonal relationships. I also have experience working individually and in the group setting for Anger Management and Bipolar Disorders. I have received all of my higher education from The University of Toledo and possess a Masters in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health. I personally pursued counseling because I believe and have seen first hand the wonderful things it can do for people. I prefer to take a hands on a realistic approach with all of my clients. When working with children I specifically like to take a hands on, creative and interactive approach. My goal is that all of my clients leave feeling understood and validated, no matter life's struggles.

A quote that I often think about states, “I’m keeping an eye on the past, an eye on the future, and the present in my pocket.” The message from this quote is the basis for the focus of my practice; to help clients understand or process past trauma and past stressful events, to empower and encouraged clients to work toward fulfilling goals, and to teach clients to be more mindful and present in the here and now for increased life satisfaction. Every person is made of complex experiences, that they have both contributed to and that they have had no control over. It is my passion to assist clients in working through these experiences through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as other evidence-based practices for adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I use an empathetic, warm, and genuine approach to my therapy sessions, as it is my goal for my clients to feel accepted and heard, even when being encouraged or challenged. My worldview is that every person deserves to lead a fulfilling and satisfying life. As for my professional vitae, I received my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Minor in Women’s Studies from The University of Akron and my Master’s in Social Work from Ohio State University.

It would be hard to argue that our lives haven't become a lot more complicated over the last few years. Whether you are: a stay at home mom, a working professional trying to balance a family life, a single parent, a divorced parent struggling with custody issues, a married mother trying to do your best, or part of a traditional family trying to raise your kids in this increasingly complex world, I have extensive experience in these issues and I am and committed to helping you work through life's challenges. My goal is to help individuals and families dealing with behavioral issues and life's struggles. I take an individualized approach to treating each person. I have experience with trauma, depression, anxiety, and child behavioral issues. I use humor and take time to really understand the individual as a whole.
I enjoy working with adults, couples and adolescents. My approach to therapy is to understand where my client is at in the therapy process and meet them there. I create a space where a client can feel understood, heard and safe. Developing rapport is one of the most important aspects in therapy. I like to utilize a lot of different techniques in therapy since I believe that not one technique fits everyone. I have recent training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) which I love to utilize in sessions. I graduated from The University of Toledo with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and I have about 1 1/2years of experience post-grad. I believe it is important to do what you love, and I love being a therapist and joining my clients on their journey of self-growth.
